What Is A Functional Capacity Evaluation?

Clear, Objective, & Concise Data About Your Physical Condition

Whether at work or on the field, the risk for injury will always be there.

If you find yourself injured and unsure if you’ll be able to return to work you’ll need an FCE. These evaluations measure various facets of your ability, such as how long you’re able to sit or stand without experiencing any pain. Data is collected and sent back to your employer or disability manager.

The legality of collecting disability or returning to modified duties can be tricky. It is for that reason that functional capacity evaluations can take a number of different routes. All of which provide valid, definsible information that can be used in case of personal injury. Assessments are conducted using the most up to date standards and technology available.

What to Expect From Our Evaluations

We Will Provide An Objective, Unbiased Analysis Of Your Physical Capabilities

Every FCE is conducted by our educated, trained team with today’s most advanced technology. A detailed report is then sent to your employer and disability manager.

Different variants of the standard test will be suggested in each situation. Two day analysis are best for sufferers of chronic conditions. They measure variations in condition to ascertain the severity of the patient's condition over a 48 hour period.

Those returning from a long-term injury, a return to work analysis is often required. This will test your ability to perform the daily requirements of your job, pre-disability. Similarly, we offer a job demand analysis. If you feel you are not physically able to keep up to the demands of your daily responsibilities of your job, we will perform an on-site analysis. We will evaluate specific tasks related to your job and determine at what level the body would need to perform in order to fulfill those tasks.

We won’t hand you a piece of paper and send you on your way. A member of our team will review your test results with you and advise you on the next steps. At Beacon Hill Physiotherapy we’ll make sure you’re taken care off. We will provide you with the information, care and advice you need to help you cope and recovery from your injury.
